We've now been to London! What a crazy city that is! I loved every minute of it! Bert would have loved staying home in his "jammies" playing spider solitare, watching TV and reading. He says he can do all of that at once!

From Buckingham Palace and the changing of the guards, to Westminster Abbey where Handel is buried, as well as many of the kings and queens of the ages, to an Indian restaurant that Bert's Tyler found online and just had to try.

It was a hustle and bustle time, but enjoyable and very fast-paced!

Ok, so I'm still very green at this whole blog process. I thought I uploaded a picture of Madden, too! Here he is in all his splendor! Such cute babies! Such a lucky grandma!

As Bert and I are facing a move to England, we are also frantically trying to fit everything in here in Okinawa that we still haven't seen or that we have enjoyed so much that we want to see again! One of the best parts of Okinawa is the history and seeing the castle ruins and the rebuilding that has taken place since the war that my Dad served in here.

We enjoyed so much having my mom and dad come to OK this spring. Dad says it was very healing for him to see the resiliency of the OK people. When he left here in 1945, the whole island was pretty much leveled. The people are sweet and good to the Americans here for the most part and most of them want us here. The US is the 2nd largest employer on the island. Bert works with some wonderful OK people.

I was so lucky to get to go to UT, first to celebrate with my mom and dad and my brothers and sisters (minus Blaine) their 60th wedding anniversary. What an amazing milestone! I am so grateful for their health and strength and their energy! They seem to be having the time of their lives! It is hard to find them home for more than a month at a time as they travel very often!

The crowning event for the month of August though was the birth of two darling new grandbabies for Bert and I! I felt the blessings of heaven as I held them both in my arms! What a wonder it is to realize that they have come from the feet of the Savior to our arms here on the earth. What a weighty responsibility to raise these precious spirits! How grateful I am for our children that are raising each of our darling grandchildren!

We have terrific children, marvelous spouses that our children have chosen, and the cutest grandchildren ever born! We are grateful beyond measure for the goodness each of them bring to our lives! Go, kids! We love them all so much!

Can't wait to see each of our kids and grandkids in a few short weeks on our way to England, Lovey! I'm practicing the lingo already!

Ok, all you great bloggers! Tell me how you get music, borders, and all the cute stuff that I see on all of your blogs! I thought I did good to get pictures and words together!

One of the best parts of our time in Alaska was seeing several of the cities and areas that Bert served at on his mission "a million years ago" he says. In one city, he remarked that there was only one street that was even paved. We found the home where he lived in the basement and the church where he attended, even though it has now been completely redone. I found a Jo-Ann fabric store, which I made him drop me off at while he went to get gas and try to find the church! Living in Japan, the shopping is pretty close to nonexistent! Thank goodness we found a Walmart, too, while we were in Alaska!

This is why it is so hard to seeMt. McKinley in all its majesty. It makes its own weather, and it usually hovers and covers the top. We were so lucky to see all of it on two different days.

This one is for Arycca and Bill! Ok, kids! I believe! 4 years ago when I went to Alaska with 3 of my friends, I did not see this mountain at all! I told Arycca unless I saw it I would not believe it existed.

WOW! Here it is in all of its majesty! 20,320 feet above sea level, rising up from only 1500 feet above the sea! It is majestic and marvelous. So's the great man in the picture!

What a blessing to get to go to the temple together in Alaska. It has been over a year since Bert and I were in Hawaii and could go to the temple. I have been lucky to go during trips back to UT and AZ, but Bert hasn't been with me so far.

Alaska Anniversary

Can hardly believe that Bert and I have been married for 2 years now. What adventures we have had!
This is an old school bus we rode for 8 hours through Denali National Park in Alaska two weeks ago. 70 degree weather, blue skies until midnight or later, baby moose, grizzlies, sheep and bald eagles! Amazing place to visit!
